Check the holiday list
Below the preview, every federal holiday for the year is listed, including observed dates. In 2027, Independence Day falls on a Sunday and is observed Monday, July 5; Juneteenth and Christmas fall on Saturdays and are observed on the Friday before.
Turn observances on or off
Leave "Show observances" on to add Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween and others in gray, or turn it off for a cleaner work calendar.

Worked example
July 2027: actual date and observed date
Choose "One month" and July. July 4 shows "Independence Day" and July 5 shows "Independence Day (obs.)", both in red. New Year’s Day 2028 falls on a Saturday, so the 2027 calendar also marks Friday, December 31 as observed.
